COMMENTARY#looking_at_oneself
This surah explores the deeper meanings of spiritual awakening, self-reflection, and the harmonious integration of rational thought and intuitive wisdom. By examining the journey of Musa, one who is strong in rational thinking, the surah provides transformative insights into human experience, emphasizing reliance on divine guidance over rational thinking for interpretation and judgment. It serves as a roadmap for aligning one’s inner self with the integration of rational thinking and intuitive wisdom, leading to spiritual growth and conscious evolution.
The surah begins with the disjointed letters Ṭo and Hā, each carrying profound symbolic meaning. The letter Ṭo represents the masculine energy, symbolizing the natural progression of rational and emotional thought. In contrast, the letter Hā embodies the feminine energy, signifying conscious revelation directly inspired by your Lord through qualities of love, care, and acceptance for mental growth and increase in our consciousness. This feminine progression guides the self toward awakening and a heightened state of awareness. Together, these letters establish the surah’s deeper and more holistic approach, integrating both sources of support, masculine and feminine, for knowledge in your spiritual and intellectual journey (20:1).
Allah has not revealed the Quran, an expression of ultimate truth, to burden or distress you. Rather, its purpose is to guide and refine your restless mind, aligning it with peace and harmony through truth in both lower and higher states of consciousness. By embodying divine masculine attributes, like focus, logic, determination, assertiveness, and courage, you cultivate the clarity to manifest words that shape and give form to reality. Allah is fully aware of what you manifest, what you keep secret, and what you conceal deep within. Every word you speak is a seed sown into the unseen soil of your life. In time, these seeds sprout, growing into the reality you create with your words (20:2-8).
Musa, known for his strength in rational thinking, exemplifies clarity and discernment. In his hadith, manifestations of words drawn from the revelation of the Quran (the ultimate expression of truth) he perceived clear, present, and valid signs. These signs became evident when a light illuminated his perception, awakening within him the realization of an insight or understanding that could guide and transform his restless mind, fostering its evolution. But when he approached the clear signs, a voice, distinct and beyond the confines of his rational thinking, called out, commanding him to relinquish the foundational understanding he had constructed through reason alone. This was a call to transcend the limits of intellect and open himself to a higher, intuitive wisdom beyond his own formulations (20:9-12).
Indeed, Allah has chosen the nafs, soul endowed with strong rational thinking to establish the sacred connection (salaah) to receive and download the hidden message and to embody the divine masculine attributes such as focus, logic, assertiveness, courage, determine, and so on. This alignment prepares the nafs to attain saa'ah, a direct and transformative encounter with Allah, where every soul is recompensed in according to the efforts he has sincerely strived toward. So do not let others divert you away from it who do not take security with it and follows their desire (20:13-16).
When Musa was asked what was in his right hand, he replied that it was his staff, his rational thinking, which he relied upon for support and analysis to manage and regulate his affairs effectively. Allah then commanded him to cast away his staff, symbolizing the surrender of his reliance on rational thinking. Once relinquished, he would witness his connection with Allah come alive and flourish. Allah instructed him to seize it, and Allah will repeat it into a practice that guides him back to his true, pure self, free from impurities, just as he was at the beginning. Allah further commanded Musa to draw in his hand—symbolizing the retraction of his rational strength—into humility. By doing so, his conscious mind would radiate clarity, illuminating the signs before him. This act of surrender would enable him to perceive the hidden message, purified and unveiled, as the ultimate truth (20:17-23).
Musa, with his conscious mind, is then commanded to confront Firaun, those who transgressed through their arrogance and superiority complex. Before stepping into this profound task, Musa turned to his Lord, seeking an expansion of his conscious and clarity of mind. He prayed for ease in his undertaking and for the release of his dependence on the constraints of rational and emotional thinking. Musa implored Allah to appoint him as a bearer of responsibility for his qaum, established thoughts and to grant eloquence to his speech that he manifest (from the established thoughts), enabling him to convey the truth in a way that others could understand with clarity and precision (20:24-29).
Hārūn, representing Musa's brotherly thoughts and the steadfast will to deliver truth within the framework of mental and spiritual development, is invoked by Musa in his supplication to Allah. Musa seeks additional strength and support by associating Hārūn in this mission, emphasizing a holistic approach to the task. This collaboration symbolizes the synergy needed to enhance awareness and embody the divine masculine attributes in their fullness and abundance (20:30-34).
Allah granted Musa what he asked for. Through the collaboration of Harun, his brotherly support, and his embodiment of divine masculine attributes, Allah strengthened him. This divine empowerment transformed Musa's strong rational thinking into bashiran, a profound insight and the ability to discern the right path. In doing so, Musa shifted the authority to interpret away from his rational and emotional mind, placing it instead within his conscious mind, guided by divine inspiration. The strength Allah conferred upon Musa mirrors what Allah inspires through your motherly and sisterly support. The motherly support embodies care, love, and acceptance, beginning with repentance, a deep emotional remorse for relying on rational and emotional thinking to pass judgment. This repentance opens the door for Allah to provide awareness of hidden truths, removing layers of illusion and instilling a love for growth under His divine vision. Similarly, your sisterly emotional support, characterized by affection and intimacy, encourages and sustains the journey. This support, directs Musa toward one who yakfuluhu / would nurse him through the transition from relying on rational thought to embracing conscious mind. In this process, Allah saved you from grief as you dissolved your reliance on rational judgment and interpretation of Allah's signs. You are then instituted as ahli Madyan, one who is familiar with and lives according to Allah's truthful way of life and modulated you as His nafs (20:35-41).
This passage describes Musa and Harun, who are commanded by Allah to confront Firaun, the embodiment of a superiority complex that has transgressed all bounds. It illustrates the dynamic between the inner voices of those with strong rational thinking and those with an unyielding will to deliver the truth. Together, they steadfastly embody the divine masculine energy, delivering Allah's signs to Bani Israel, representing those on a spiritual journey seeking the truth. Firaun, symbolizing the stubborn superiority complex, challenges them by asking, "Who is your Lord (the sustainer of the hidden message)?" They respond, "Our Lord is the one who evolves and guides us." This truth extends even to the former qurun, those groups of thoughts bound together by shared knowledge originating from our Lord, the sustainer. It is Allah who transforms our lower consciousness into a sacred space for spiritual preparation and growth. He facilitates spiritual development and ascension by integrating hidden knowledge from the higher consciousness. This divine process gives rise to zakara (the divine masculine energy) and unsa (the divine feminine energy), both emerging from the knowing of the hidden truths and insights (20:42-53).
Indeed, in the ana'am / pleasant thoughts Allah bestows upon us, there are profound signs for those who have reached the station of cultivation. Allah will continually affirm these signs, assuring you that true growth lies in cultivating truth, enabling you to transcend falsehood time and again. Though Allah reveals His signs to all, those consumed by arrogance and a sense of superiority will deny and reject them. To such individuals, your guidance appears as an attempt to divert them from their perceived path. In turn, their promise and plan will be to lead you astray from the straight path. Yet, the ana'am / pleasant thoughts Allah has gifted you will reveal the reality, that their promises are mere adornments of illusion and fleeting amusement (20:54-60).
Musa firmly declared that it is impossible to fabricate a lie against Allah. Those who dispute and reject Allah's signs will find themselves incapable of making any effort to escape misguidance. Indeed, two powerful diverters—arrogance and falsehood—will create diversionary schemes against you, serving as obstacles to discovering new pathways to perceive the right path. Therefore, strengthen your resolve, remain steadfast, and do not fall prey to illusions. In doing so, you will succeed in overcoming these diversions (20:61- 64).
In the midst of the dispute, the arrogant, feigning respect, urged Musa to present his argument first. However, in a sincere gesture of courtesy, Musa invited Firaun to present his case before him. When Firaun unveiled his deceptive display, born of his twisted mind, a moment of fear crept into Musa's heart, as the intent was clearly to intimidate him. In that moment, Allah reassured Musa, comforting him and guiding him not to fear. Instead, Musa was instructed to confidently present the truth—the clear and undeniable argument he had received intuitively from his Lord. Allah assured him that this truth would overwhelm and nullify Firaun's falsehoods. Those who witnessed the event and recognized the truth within Musa's message fell into prostration, a profound act of submission and humility. By this act, they signified their acceptance of the message and their willingness to surrender to the guidance of their Lord (20:65-70).
Sarcastically, Firaun confronted them, exclaiming, "How dare you place your trust in the messages of Allah delivered by Musa and Harun!" Firaun threatened to strip them of their ability to think rationally and independently derive meaning from the signs around them. He extended his threat, vowing to deprive them of their logic and reasoning, leaving them disgraced and trapped in a state of agitation and inner turmoil. Yet, those who take security in Allah's message remain steadfast, holding firm to the clear proofs they have received from their Lord. They understand that the desires and decrees of their ego-driven minds are fixated on the fleeting attachments of this world, Duniya. Indeed, Allah has forgiven them for their sins, those deviations from the truth that once led them astray. As for those who come to their Lord with a broken covenant, rejecting or denying Allah's message, they are destined for Jahannam, a state of stagnation where neither life thrives nor death offers release. In contrast, those who approach their Lord with trust in Allah's message and use it to correct and transform themselves will be raised to the highest ranks. For them are hidden gardens of perpetual knowledge, where rivers of wisdom flow endlessly, nourishing their souls for eternity (20:71-76).
Your spiritual journey, carefully constructed in pursuit of knowledge, is always accompanied by Musa, the embodiment of rational thinking, guiding you as you navigate the vast ocean of Allah’s wisdom. Do not fear when you first encounter dry, non-experiential knowledge, it is but the surface, awaiting deeper understanding. Firaun, representing the ego and worldly distractions, will attempt to obscure Allah’s message, urging you to fixate on outward forms rather than the essence within. Indeed, Firaun leads established thoughts astray, offering no true guidance (20:77-79).
Indeed, Allah delivers you from your enemy by fortifying you with manna wa salwa, a source of strength and endurance. Through this divine reinforcement, you are empowered to ascend to higher levels of fulfillment in your covenant with Him. Therefore, partake in the provisions Allah has granted you, and abstain from consuming falsehood. Those who have incurred Allah’s displeasure and seek to turn back must repent, place their trust in His message, and engage in corrective deeds. Then, walk steadfastly in the guidance of your Lord (20:80-82).
Do not rush to interpret Allah's message. Be mindful of your tendency to align with thoughts that arise naturally within you, for they may not reflect divine guidance. Know that Allah is not pleased when you rely solely on such inclinations, as a thought, no matter how compelling, is not the guidance from your Lord. It has been made clear that seeking truth without His guidance will only lead you astray. Thus, Musa, representing rational thinking, will help you recognize that by firmly establishing Allah’s message, you will uphold a righteous covenant. This path is far better than incurring Allah’s displeasure by breaking the covenant and inviting His wrath (20:83-86).
Those who were once consumed by their ego-driven minds declared that they did not break their covenant intentionally. Instead, they claimed to have been burdened by the allure of outward adornments. This is why they casted aside the attachment to outward forms and ceased relying solely on rational thinking, seeking instead the pure guidance of our Lord. But when Firaun hastily proclaimed that the mental image produced by thought was the reality of Musa, born from their own rational thinking, they failed to see the truth. They, too, could not discern that such a mental image is merely a construct, devoid of the power to bring harm or benefit (20:87-89).
Harun, representing strong willpower to uphold the truth, reminded the established thoughts: "You are being tested by this. Your Lord, Ar-Rahman, is merciful for providing an abstract system of guidance. Follow me and obey my command." However, the thoughts resisted, declaring, "We will not abandon this trial until Musa, symbolizing rational thinking, returns to us." When Musa returned, he questioned Harun: "Why did you not intervene when you saw them go astray? Did you disobey my instructions?" Harun responded, "O source of my nurturing support, do not blame me harshly or entirely. I feared you would accuse me of causing division among those seeking spiritual growth and ignoring your directive (20:90-94)"
Musa, representing strong rational thinking, asked Samiri, who seeks truth without proper guidance: "What is your situation, O Samiri?" Samiri replied, "I perceived insights others could not, so I clung to them, refusing to let go, following traces of an inner voice. But I cast aside the guidance from my Rabb, as my soul misled me." Musa said, "Then go with your insight. In this life, your path will be marked by isolation, and you have a promise you cannot replace. As for your objects of devotion, the realities you clung to, we will destroy them and scatter them into small pieces, leaving no trace (20:95-97)."
Reality, for you, is solely Allah, who encompasses all things with His infinite knowledge. Allah bestows hidden knowledge, ladunni, imbued with divine masculine attributes, revealed directly from Him to aid your growth and reform. Those who turn away from this guidance will find it a burden when they seek to ultimately establish the truth. In that moment of burden, the hidden message will appear distorted, cloaked in negativity and inflated with falsehood. This will place you among the mujrimun, those who break their covenant with Allah. Yet, even in the final reckoning, you are given a chance to set right what is wrong. However, those who remain stubborn will persist on their misguided path, abandoning the hidden message and leaving it barren and meaningless. At that moment, you will follow the caller all your voices will be humbled before Ar-Rahman, seeking His approval and guidance for the education, of the hidden message (20:98-108).
At this moment, Allah permits intercession only for those whom He has granted permission and those who has accepted His words. Allah knows what you uphold and whether what manifests lies within the bounds of His knowledge. He is aware of whether humility guides your focus for growth. If your actions give rise to injustice, placing things where they do not belong, you fail, and Allah knows whether those who receive His word and embody justice will engage in corrective deeds and place their trust in His guidance. This is how Allah reveals to you quranan arabiyyan, an eloquent expression of truth. Through it, He instills strength in your heart, ensuring that you do not turn away from the promise to fulfill the covenant (20:109-113).
Allah is Al-Malikul Haqq, the Sovereign Authority of Truth. Do not rush to interpret its meaning before it is decreed; instead, continually ask Allah to increase you in knowledge. Allah knows that Adam, who was endowed with the inner authority to align the interpretation of hidden messages with his Lord, faltered due to a lack of determination, a quality of the divine masculine energy. This is why, when Allah commanded the mala'ikah, the inner authorities, to prostrate in submission, they all obeyed, except Iblees, the embodiment of despair and rebellion. Allah made it clear to Adam that these despairing thoughts are an enemy to you and your pair: zakara, the divine masculine attributes, and unsa, the divine feminine attributes. Beware, for Iblees is capable of leading you away from the hidden garden of knowledge, leaving you in a state of distress (20:114-117).
Indeed, in Jannah, you will never be hungry, for knowledge flows endlessly. You will never be exposed to falsehood, nor will you thirst for truth, for it is ever-present. Neither will you feel the heat of conflict, for peace will surround you. Then Shaytan, the deceiving voice of despair from the logical mind, will whisper to you, saying, "O Adam, holder of inner authority, shall I lead you to the tree of eternity and a kingdom that will never fade"? Then Adam succumbed to the deceiving voice of Shaytan and acted upon it. As a result, his shortcomings became evident, and he began to conceal with the coverings to cover the hidden garden of knowledge. Adam, endowed with inner authority to align judgment within the field of consciousness, disobeyed his Lord and went astray (20:118-121).
Degrade those who rely on their rational mind for guidance. Those who are aware of their mistake and seek forgiveness are the chosen ones that Allah will turn to and guide them. Allah gives assurance to those who follow Allah's guidance that they will never go astray not distress. To those who receive revelation by their intuitive mind but do not embody the divine masculine attributes (like focus, determination, logic, assertiveness, etc) by their rational mind, will be weak (will rely on secondary sources and will be far away from establishing their inner authority to comprehend the revelation. Allah said thet He will gather them blind puzzling you fo having insights but not able to see. So Allah recompense those who transgress and do not take security in Allah's message, punishment of the ending of dissociation of the duniya will be more severe and everlasting (20:122-127).
Indeed, those who perceive the dismantling of previous, constrained thoughts as an act of transgression and rejection of Allah's message are the ones who ultimately transcend their rational mind to embrace revelation through the intuitive mind. True success begins with the emergence of truth, words born from the rational mind, yet rooted in divine revelation and intuitive wisdom. Therefore, be patient in your pursuit of truth. Do not rush to conclusions, lest you overlook the signs before clarity dawns upon you. Refrain from stretching your perception beyond what Allah has revealed, for doing so may lead you astray, entangled in the confines of your attachments and worldly relationships. Instead, align your rational thinking to comprehend the signs revealed upon you. The earlier pages of the Kitab provide clear evidence that these signs are revealed to all. The Rasul, or the inner voice, has indeed delivered these signs to you, so you cannot claim that Allah has not sent His messenger. Through these events, you will come to recognize who walks the sound path and who is truly guided (20:128-135).
By the (divine and all comprehensive) name Allah (that carries an elevated hidden meaning to its name), the Rahmaan, the Raheem. (The Rahmaan is Allah's mercy for providing His abstract education system of factual knowledge and the Raheem is the mercy for the approval given to those who seek education through Ar Rahman).
20.1 Thoha. The letter Tho symbolizes the natural progression of logical and emotional thinking, reflecting the evolution of an agitated mind as it moves toward a state of peace. Meanwhile, the letter Ha represents the intrinsic nature of the entire nervous system, guiding it toward awakening and heightened awareness.
20.2 We have not revealed to you the Qur'an / expression of truth that is tashqo / distressful (conflict ridden),
20.3 Except tazkirah / embodying the truth with the divine masculine attributes (like focus, logic, determine, assertiveness, courage) to whoever (experience) yakhshaa / fear (so that they may transform their agitated minds into states of peace, harmony, and success),
20.4 Tanzilan / a revelation from the one who khalaqa / evolved the ardh / lower consciousness and the samaawaat / higher consciousness, the high.
20.5 Ar-Rahman / the Most Merciful (for providing His abstract education system of factual knowledge) over the arsh / support framework, istawaa / adapted (for your education).
20.6 To Him belongs whatever is in the samaawaat / higher consciousness and whatever is in the ardh / lower consciousness and whatever is between them and what is tahta ithara / grounded for initial formative state.
20.7 And if you tajhar / manifest with the saying - then indeed, He knows the sirra / secret and akhfa / concealed.

20.9 And has hadith / representation (that present form, pattern and names pointing to hidden reality) of Musa / one who is strong in rational and emotional thinking, reached you?
20.10 When he saw naran / a light (illuminating on the signs) then (he) said to his ahli / acquiantance, "Remain; indeed, I have perceived naran / a light; perhaps I can bring you from it biqobasin / by acquisition or ajidu / perception over an-nar / the internal conflicts, as hudan / a guidance."
20.11 Then when he came to it, nudiya / he was called, "O Musa / one who is strong in rational and emotional thinking,
20.12 Indeed, I am your Rabb / Lord, fakhla' / so dissolve na'laika / your conclusion (formulated by your rational thinking). Indeed, you are with wadi / plain unassuming (mind without cultivation) of the muqaddasi / one who is in the state of purity, tuwan / a folded representation (that embedded the truth)
20.13 And I have chosen you, so listen to what yuhaa / is inspired.
20.14 Indeed, I am Allah . There is no ilaha / reality except Me, so serve Me and establish the solah / connection (to download and receive the hidden message from your Rabb / Lord) to zikri / embodiment of My divine masculine attributes (like focus, logic, assertiveness, courage).
20.15 Indeed, the saa'ah / direct experience (meeting with Allah) is coming - I almost conceal it - that every nafsin / soul may be recompensed according with what it strives.
20.16 So do not let one avert you from it who does not yukminin / take security with it (of what is inspired to you) and follows his desire, then perish.
20.17 And what is that with your right (your authority and ownership that traditionally support your decision making), O Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking?
20.18 He said, "It is my staff (rational and emotional thinking that serves as unfettered fatherly support, to manage and regulate the affair properly); I lean over it, and I analyse (break up) with it over ghanami / my gain (of the goodness) and I have in it other ma'aribu / knowledge in my affairs.
20.19 (Allah) said, "Alqiha / throw it (do not use your rational and emotional thinking), O Musa / one who is strong in rational and emotional thinking.
20.20 So he threw it (surrender his rational and emotional mind), then behold, it (conscious mind) hayyatun / is alive, tas'a / thriving.
20.21 (Allah) said, "Seize it and fear not; We will repeat it (so that it becomes a practice to you with your conscious mind) sirataha / return to its true state, al'ulaa / the beginning.
20.22 And draw in your hand (rational and emotional strength you possessed) to janahaka / your humility; it (your conscious mind) will come out bright (with pure hidden knowledge) without evil (free from impurities), another aayatan / sign,
20.23 That We may show you (the truth) from Our greater ayaati / signs.
20.24 (With your conscious mind) go to firaun / sense of superiority complex. Indeed, he has transgressed.
20.25 (Musa) said, "My Rabb / Lord, expand for me sodri / my awareness (with the conscious mind).
20.26 And ease for me amri / my affair
20.27 And untie (loose the impediments) the knot (my bond and attachment of my rational mind) from lisaani / my tongue (truthfulness to be formulated).
20.28 That they yafqahu / will understand my saying (of the truth).
20.29 And make for me waziran / a bearer of burden, from ahli / my acquiantance.
20.30 Harun / who has strong will to deliver the truth, my akhi / brotherly support (in the mental development and growth),
20.31 Strengthen (the mental growth) with him (the brotherly support), azri / my holistic approach,
20.32 And ashrik / associate him in amri / my affair.
20.33 So that we glorify you (by swimming to explore Allah's abundant knowledge) much.
20.34 And embody You (with the divine masculine attributes like focus, logic, assertiveness, courage), much.
20.35 Indeed, You are with us, bashiran / an insight.
20.36 (Allah) said, "Verily, you have been granted su'laka / your inquiry, O Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking.
20.37 And indeed, We had already conferred upon you mananna / Our strength (when you are weak), another (inspiration),
20.38 When We inspired to ummika / your motherly support (of care, love and acceptan for growth) of what We inspired,
20.39 That (the care for growth) throw (emotional remorse) in him in the taabut / repentance then iqzifihi / throw in him in alyami falyulqihi / river flow of hidden knowledge throw him alyammu bissaahili / river flow of knowledge that remove the layers of illusion, an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under 'ayni / My vision.
20.40 When ukhtuka / your sisterly support (source of emotional support like affection and intimicy) tamshi / continue the course of action then said, 'Shall I direct you to who yakfuluhu / will nurse him (look after him in the transition from leaving his rational mind to place the authority in the conscious mind)?' So We returned you to ummika / your motherly support that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed nafsan / a self (your rational mind), then We saved you from alghammi / distress and tried you, futunan / a trial. And you remained sinina / instituted among ahli madyana / those submit in the state of truthful way of life (where they consciously obey Allah's judgment, law and systems). Then you came upon qadarin / a measure (assessment), O Musa / one who is strong in rational and emotional thinking.
20.41 And I ishthona'ka / modulated you for My nafs / self.
20.42 Izhab / go, you and your brotherly support (Musa and Harun), with My signs and do not slacken in zikri / embodiment of My divine masculine energy.
20.43 Go, both of you (Musa and Harun), to firaun / senses of superiority complex. Indeed, he has transgressed.
20.44 And say to him with gentle saying that perhaps he yatazakkaru / may embody divine masculine attributes (like focus, logic, assertiveness, courage) or yakhshaa / will (face) fear.
20.45 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we fear that he (firaun) yafrutho / will neglect against us (Musa and Harun) or that he will transgress."
20.46 (Allah) said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both (Musa and Harun); I hear and I see.
20.47 So come to him (firaun) and say, 'Indeed, we (Musa and Harun) are rasula / inner voices (that deliver the message) of your Rabb / Lord, so send with us bani israel / those who construct the spiritual journey seeking truth, and do not tuazzibhum / punish them. Indeed, We have come to you with a sign from your Rabb / Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance.
20.48 Indeed, it has been inspired to us that the punishment is upon whoever denies and turns away.
20.49 (Firaun) said, "So who is the Rabb / Lord of you two (Musa and Harun), O Musa / who is strong in rational thinking?"
20.50 He said, "Our Rabb / Lord is He who gave each thing its khalqahu / evolution and then guided."
20.51 (Firaun) said, "Then what is the case of the former qurun / thoughts bound in the same group?
20.52 (Musa) said, "It's knowledge (of the former qurun) thereof is with my Rabb / Lord in kitabin / a written record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets."
20.53 (It is He) who has made for you the ardh / lower consciousness as mahdan / a place for you to prepare (developmental place for ascension) and inserted therein for you pathways and revealed from the samaa'i / higher consciousness, flow of hidden knowledge then produced with it azwaajan / pairs of zakara / divine masculine attrubutes (like focus, logic, assertiveness, courageous) and unsa / divine feminine attributes like unconditional love, care, compassion) from various nabatin / hidden news.
20.54 Kuluu / consume and cultivate your an'aama / pleasant thought. Indeed, in that (an'aam) are ayaati / signs for ulin nuhaa / those ultimately reached (and rose beyond the signs).
20.55 From it (the pleasant thoughts) We evolved you, and in it nu'idukum / We repeat you (so that you are assured to evolve), and from it nukhrijukum / We bring you out (of falsehood), taaratan ukhraa / another time after time.
20.56 And We certainly showed him (the sense of superiority complex) Our signs - all of them - then he denied and refused.
20.57 He said, "Have you come to us to drive us out from our ardh / lower conscousness with sihrika / your diversion (that turn us away from the right course, O Musa / one who is strong in his rational thinking?
20.58 Then we too will bring you with sihri / diversion (that turn you away from your diverted course) like it, so make between us and between you maw'idan / a promise, which we will not fail to keep it and neither will you, makaanan suwan / a position well proportioned.
20.59 (Musa) said, "Your position is the moment of the zinah / adornment and when an-nas / the agitated thoughts yukhshara / assemble (to return to the truth), dhuhan / a penetrating ray of revelation."
20.60 So Firaun / sense of superiority complex turned away, then gather kaidahu / his plan, then came (to Musa).
20.61 Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking said to them (superiority complex), "Woe to you! Do not invent a lie against Allah or He will exterminate you with a punishment; and certainly, a dissappointment is to whoever iftaraa / invented."
20.62 So they disputed over their affair between them and asarru / concealed their najwaa / effort to save (from misguidance).
20.63 They said, "Indeed, these are two saahiraani / diverters (from the right path) who want to drive you out from your ardh / lower consciousness with their sihrihima / two diversions plan and do away with your thoriqat / opening up of the muthlaa / plans you perceived as the right path.
20.64 So consolidate your plan then come saffan / standing in row (to present). And succeed indeed the moment to whoever overcomes (finding the truth)."
20.65 They said, "O Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking, either you throw or we will be the first to throw."
20.66 He said, "Rather, you (superiority complex) throw." Then when hibaaluhum / their bondage (from their twisted mind) and their staff (what they are good at) yuhoiyalu / seemed to him from their sihri / diversion (from their straight path) that they were striving.
20.67 Then he sensed within himself, Musa's fear / apprehension of the one who is strong in rational thinking.
20.68 We said, "Fear not. Indeed it is you, who are the high.
20.69 And throw what in your right (the right thing to do based on truth and good moral behaviour); it (rational thinking) will swallow up what they have crafted. Indeed, what they have crafted is plot of a saahirin / a diversion from the truth, and the saahiru / diversion (from the truth) will not succeed wherever it comes from."
20.70 So the saharah / who received the diversions fell down in sujjadan / prostration (surrender). They said, "We aaman / have taken security with Rabb / Lord of Harun / and Musa."
20.71 (Firaun) said, "You took security to him before that I gave permission to you. Indeed, he is surely your great provider who has taught you the sihra / diversion. So I surely will cut off your hands (your power / ability) and arjulakum / your independent rational thinking (to derive any useful meaning of the sign) from khilafin / a representation, and la'usallibiyannakum / I will deprive you (of logic and reason) in disgrace to develop the structured (fully agitated mind) state, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in punishment and more enduring."
20.72 They said, "Never will we prefer you over what has come to us from clear proofs and He who fathorana / originated us. So decree whatever you are to decree. Surely, whatever you decree are for this life of the duniya / close attachments.
20.73 Indeed, aamanna / we have taken security with our Rabb / Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us from the sihri / diversion from the truth. And Allah is better and more enduring."
20.74 Indeed, he who comes to his Rabb / Lord as mujriman / one who violated the covenant, then indeed, for him is jahannam / state of stagnation (no spiritual progress); he will neither die therein nor live.
20.75 And whoever comes to Him as mukminan / one who take security with his Rabb / Lord having done corrective deeds, then they are those who will be the darajaatul 'ulaa / highest degrees,
20.76 Jannatu / hidden garden of perpetual knowledge beneath which rivers of knowledge flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself.
20.77 And certainly, We had inspired to Musa / who is strong in rational thinking, that travel spiritually (seeking hidden knowledge) with My servants then strike for them a path in the ocean of knowledge, yabasan / a dry (non-experiential) knowledge; you will not fear being seized nor be afraid (of the dry knowledge)."
20.78 So firaun / sense of superiority complex followed them bijunudihi / with his knowledge (acquired by his independent rational thinking), and covered them from alyammi / the focus what covered them (to focus on the form rather than the substance),
20.79 And firaun / sense of superiority complex led his qaum / group of established thoughts astray and no guidance.
20.80 O bani israel / those who construct their spiritual journey (seeking guidance), verily, We saved you from your enemy, and waa'adnaakum / We made a covenant with you jaaniba althur / at higher levels of attainment (of the covenant), and We revealed to you the manna / strength and the salwa / endurance,
20.81 "Consume (the hidden knowledge) from the good things what razqnaakum / We have provided you and do not consume falsehood in it (the spiritual journey), that is permissable upon you ghadabi / My anger. And whoever make permissable upon him My anger, indeed (he is in) hawaa / vain desire."
20.82 But indeed, I am surely most Forgiving to whoever repents and aamana / take security (in Al Kitab) and does corrective deeds, then continues (to follow the) guidance.
20.83 And what made you hasty from your qaum / group of established thoughts (to interpret for the understanding), O Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking?
20.84 He (Musa) said, "They are close upon my footsteps, and I hastened to You, my Rabb / Lord, that You be pleased."
20.85 (Allah) said, "But indeed, We have tried your qaum / group of established thoughts from after you, and the samiri / seeking the truth without guidance (from their Rabb) has led them astray."
20.86 So Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking, returned to his qaum / group of established thoughts, ghadbaana / angered asifan / sorrowful. He said, "O my qaum / group of established thoughts, did your Rabb / Lord not make you a good covenant? Then, was the promise passed for a long period over you, or did you wish that wrath from your Lord is yahilla / permissible upon you, faakhlaftum / so you represent your covenant to me (with the form rather than the substance)?"
20.87 They said, "We did not represent (such form) our covenant to you with our inner authority, and that we were made to conceive awzaran / burdens from the ziinati / adornments of the qaum / group of established thoughts (of firaun), so we threw them, and thus threw the samiri / seeking the truth without guidance."
20.88 And he brought forth for them ijlan / hastiness which jasadan / formed mental image, and they said, "This is your ilaah / reality and the reality of Musa / one who is strong in rational thinking, fanasiya / then he forgot."
20.89 Did they not see that it (the mental image) could not return to them any saying and that it did not possess authority for them, any harm or benefit?
20.90 And certainly Harun / who has strong will power to deliver the truth, told them from before, "O my qaum / group of established thoughts, you are only being tested with it, and indeed, your Rabb / Lord is Ar Rahman / the most merciful (for providing His abstract education system, so follow me and obey my order."
20.91 They (group of established thoughts) said, "We will never quit over it (the trial) 'aakifin / a retreat, until Musa / who is strong in rational thinking, returns to us."
20.92 (Musa / who is strong in rational thinking) said, "O Harun / who has strong will power to deliver the truth), what prevented you, when you saw them astray,
20.93 So that you did not follow me? Did you then disobey my order?"
20.94 (Harun / who has strong will power to deliver the truth) said, "O construct of my motherly support (the feminine energy of unconditional love, care and acceptance), do not take (me) bilihyati / with insult nor bira'si / with full awareness. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the bani Israel / those who construct their spiritual journey (seeking guidance from their Rabb), and you did not observe qauli / my word (what I have to say).' "
20.95 (Musa / who is strong in rational thinking) said, "Then what is your case, O samiri / seeking the truth without guidance (from your Rabb)?"
20.96 He (samiri) said, "I basurtu / had insight with what they yabsuru / perceive not with it, faqabadhtu / so I hold on (not letting go) qabdhah / unyielding (to what insight I perceive) from footsteps of the rasul / inner voice (that deliver the message) then tabaztuha / threw it (guidance from my Rabb), and thus did my soul sawwalat / conspired me."
20.97 (Musa / who is strong in rational thinking) said, "Then go (with your insight). And indeed, for you in the hayaati / life, say, 'Do not touch.' And indeed, to you mawidatan / a promise you will never replace (with other promises). And look at your ilaah / realities, they are those upon it, remained 'aakifan / a devotion. We will surely burn it and blow it away into the yammi / focus (towards) nisfan / a blast in small pieces.
20.98 Your ilaah / reality is only Allah, there is no ilaah / reality except He and He encompassed all things (in His) 'ilman / knowledge."
20.99 Thus, We relate to you from anbaa'i / hidden news (for reform) of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from ladunna / directly (from your Lord), zikran / an embodiment of the divine masculine attributes.
20.100 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the moment of the qiyamah / establishment (to establish the truth), wisran / a burden,
20.101 (The burden) everlasting in it, and evil it is for them moment of the qiyamah / establishment, hamilan / a conception (of evil),
20.102 Moment (the conception of evil) inflate in the badness, and We will gather the mujrimin / those who violated the covenant, that moment, zurqan / devastated with intent badness.
20.103 Yatakhaafatuna / they become silent among themselves, you remained not except 'ashran / a final appearance.
20.104 We are most knowing with what they say when the best example of them thoriqah / (in the) path (of violating their covenant) will say, you remained not except yawman / a moment.
20.105 And they ask you about the jibal / fixed headed (stubborn), so say, "My Lord yansifuha / will blow them away, nasqan / a blast.
20.106 And He will abandon them, a hollow (empty of the hidden news) plain (of consciousness without knowledge);
20.107 You will not see therein 'iwajan / a distortion (of the badness) and no unevenness (of evil).
20.108 That moment, they will follow the caller, no distortion to it, and the voices will be humbled before the Rahman / Most Merciful (seeking approval for the education of the hidden message so that it is not empty and plain), so you will not hear except a very soft sound (which you will not be able to make out what it is).
20.109 That moment, no shafaa'at / intercession benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word.
20.110 Allah knows what is between his hands and what is kholfahum / their representations (manifestations of the truth), and they do not encompass with it 'ilman / (in) knowledge.
20.111 And the wujuhu / focus to care (for growth) humbled before the Ever-Living, the Ever-Established and verily, he who hamala / conceives injustice will fail.
20.112 And whoever does corrective deeds and he is mukmin / one who take security (in Al Kitab), he will neither fear injustice (putting things in wrong place by accepting the representations as reality) nor deprivation (of the truth).
20.113 And thus We have revealed it to you quranan arabiyyan / an articulative expression of truth, and sarrafna / We instill therein strength not to turn away, from the promise (to fulfill the covenant) that perhaps they will be mindful or will cause them to perceive hadith / representation of reality, zikran / an embodiment of divine masculine attributes.
20.114 So high is Allah, the malikul haqq / sovereign authority of the Truth and, do not hasten with the Qur'ani / expression of truth from before its revelation that yuqdho / is decreed to you, and say, "My Rabb / Lord, increase me in knowledge."
20.115 And verily, We covenanted towards Adam / who possesses inner authority (to place interpretation of the signs within the consciousness field) from before, then forgot; and We did not find for him, 'azman / any determination (a divine attribute of zikr).
20.116 And when We said to the malaa'ikah / inner authority, "Prostrate (submit) to Adam / who possesses inner authority (to place interpretation within the consciousness field)," and they prostrated (submitted), except Iblees / those wrapped in despair; abaa / he refused.
20.117 So We said, "O Adam / who possesses inner authority, indeed this is an enemy to you and to zawjika / your pair (zakara / divine masculine attributes and unsa / divine feminine attributes). Then let him (iblees) not remove you from the jannah / hidden garden of knowledge, then you would be distressful.
20.118 Indeed, for you therein (in the jannah) is not to be hungry (of the wealth of knowledge) and not to be exposed (to falsehood).
20.119 And indeed, you will not be thirsty (of the truth) therein and not tadhhaa / be hot (feeling the heat from conflicts),
20.120 Then shaytan / deceiving whisper from despair, waswasa / whispered to him; he said, "O Adam / who possesses inner authority, shall I direct you to shajaratil khuldi / tree of eternity and mulkin / authority that will not be afflicted?"
20.121 Then they both consume from it (the deceiving whisper of shaytan). Then their evil became apparent to both of them, and they set about to cover themselves from waraqi / hiding (the guidance) of the jannah / hidden garden of knowledge. And Adam / who possesses inner authority, disobeyed his Lord, so he erred.
20.122 Then his Rabb / Lord chose him and turned to him (in forgiveness) and guided (him).
20.123 (Allah) said, "Degrade from it, all of you, some (is) enemy (acts exceeding limit) to others. Then if there should come to you hudan / guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor distress.
20.124 And whoever turns away from zikri / embodiment of divine masculine attributes (like focus, determination, logic, assertiveness, etc) then indeed, to him is ma'ishatan dhonakan / life marked by weaknesses (and reliance on others), and We gather him on moment of establishment (of the truth), blind."
20.125 He shall say, "My Rabb / Lord, why have you raised me blind though I had bashiran / an insight?"
20.126 (Allah) will say, "Thus did ayaatina / Our signs come to you, then you forgot them; and thus to you this moment be forgotten."
20.127 And thus do We recompense who transgressed and did not yukmin / take security with ayaatina / signs of his Rabb / Lord. And certainly, punishment of the aakhirah / ending of the dissociation (by dissolving duniya) is more severe and more lasting.
20.128 Does it not then, guide for them how many of the qurun / thoughts bound in the same group, We destroyed from before they setting out in masaakinihim / remain of their need (transgressing and not taking security in the signs)? Indeed that are signs for ulin nuhaa / those ultimately reached (and rose beyond the signs).
20.129 And if not for a word that preceded (made known earlier) from your Rabb / Lord, lizaman / would have been usual (to recompense the transgression), and ajalum musaaman / a specified term.
20.130 So be patient over what they say and sabbih / swim to explore (in Allah's ocean of knowledge) with praise of your Lord (for the signs that He has revealed) before thulu'i / emergence of the illumination (clarity of the message) and before ghuribiha / lose sight of it (of the signs); and then swim (seeking the clarity) from anaa'i / maturity of perception of the layli / barriers that bring darkness and athrafa / examine the nahar / brightness, that you tardho / may be pleased.
20.131 And do not stretch your eyes (expand your perception) upon what We have given with it, azwaajan / a pair (attributes of zakara and unsa) from them, manifestation of the hayaatid duniya / life of the close attachments that We tempt them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more lasting.
20.132 Wa'mur / and order ahlaka / your family of thoughts bissolaati / with connection (to download Allah's message) and be patient over it (what Allah has given you). (We) do not ask you for rizqan / provision; We provide for you, and the 'aqibatu / outcome is for the taqwa / mindful.
20.133 And they say, "Why does he not bring us with a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them bayyinatu / clarity (separating truth from flasehood) of what was in suhufil ula / the earlier contemplative expression (within which the hidden message is veiled, awaiting deeper reflection to be uncovered)?
20.134 And if We had destroyed them with a punishment from before him, they would have said, "Our Rabb / Lord, why did You not send to us rasulan / inner voice (that deliver the message) so we could have followed (with emotional intelligence) Your signs from before that, (we were) nazilla / subservient (obey blindly) and nakhzaa / disgraced?"
20.135 Say, "Each is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided."
NOTES
In the vast expanse of Islamic spirituality, the fundamental tenet is the oneness and absolute reality of Allah. Allah is the only true existence, the ultimate reality, transcending time, space, and the limitations of human comprehension. Everything that exists is a manifestation of Allah’s will, and without Allah, nothing can exist. This understanding underscores the principle of Tawhid, the oneness of Allah, which is the cornerstone of Islamic faith. The perception of anything existing independently of Allah is a profound misunderstanding. These perceived entities or forces, referred to as taghut, represent falsehoods and deceptions. Taghut encompasses all that is worshipped or revered besides Allah, and their existence is essentially illusory, as they are devoid of true substance or reality. They appear to exist due to human perception and societal constructs, but in essence, they are mere shadows, lacking the eternal and unchanging nature of Allah.
