MEANING OF AL BARZAKH

AL BARZAKH

Al barzakh is the impassable barrier that separate and hinder us from progressing to attain success.   The barrier arises when there are two opposing elements entangle and with the entanglement it hinders the progress.  The word barzakh has a root word "ba ra zai and kho" which carry a meaning of "a thing that intervene, make separation or barrier between any two things.  Allah puts it clearly that the one that separate and hinder us to resurrect and return to Allah is the word we speak namely, product of our own thinking.  We have a finite mind because information we gather and process are based on those information retrieve from memory.  It is a fact that what we know is so little compared to what we do not know.  Thus relying to what we think for answers is not wholly and complete.  This will not lead us to the truth.   When the knowledge from what we think meet with knowledge from our Rabb, we will be confused and lose ground of the right path.  This narration on al Barzakh is from observation made on the following verses of Al Quran.

With the name Allah (the All-Encompassing Source whose name encompasses the measurements of existence and the unfolding chain of events leading to all observable outcomes), the Rahmaan, the Raheem. (The Rahmaan is the boundless system of factual knowledge and the Raheem is the grace bestowed upon those who sincerely seek and engage with this wisdom through the guidance of Ar Rahmaan).

25.53    And He is the One who maraja / entangle the two seas of knowledge; (the one revealed by our Rabb) this is 'azbun furatun / pleasant fresh thoughts and (the one from our own thinking) this is milhun ujajun / blazing impure thoughts.  And He made between them barzakhun / a separation hindering and hijran mahjuran / an inviolable state of hindrance.

55.19    Maraja / (in a state) entangle of the two sea of knowledge (what he thinks and what is revealed from his Rabb), meeting.

55.20    Bainahuma / between them two barzakhun / a separation,  they do not cross.

23.100    That I may do solehan  / corrective actions in what I have left behind.  No! (Pay attention), indeed it is kalimah /  a word he speaks (that is, what he thinks).  And from that, affect him barzakhun / a separation (hindering) to moment of yub'athun / resurrection.
